If I were old enough (and retired enough) to participate in this event, I would!

The Hudson River Park is hosting all-ages events throughout the summer including sing-alongs (Hudson River Flicks) and music (Sunset on the Hudson) but I am most excited about this special program for older adults. It provides an opportunity for seniors to connect with their community and enjoy nature. I’m sure the lively conversation and fish tales shared among this group will be wild. Seating and shade are available at Pier 63 near West 23rd Street. Rods, reels, bait, and instruction are provided. Fishing is catch/release and there is no event scheduled on September 11th. The program runs from July 3rd through September 25th.
I’m confident every effort will be taken to ensure safety. And for me, unfortunately, my skills as an adult gerontology nurse practitioner won’t be necessary. Too bad because it would have provided the perfect cover to hang out on the water with some folks who’ve got a unique perspective and insight on living. Along with words of wisdom and life advice, I would have picked up some surefire fishing tips as well!
